Qualifications: MBBS, MClinEpid, PGDipCU, MCU, FCICM Ruwan graduated from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and initially worked in acute medicine and cardiology before moving to Australia. Ruwan undertook further training at Westmead, Liverpool and Royal Prince Alfred hospitals in Sydney with the completion of Fellowship of the College Intensive Care Medicine. Ruwan was appointed as a Staff Specialist in Canberra ICU in 2015. Currently he holds the ICU echocardiography and ultrasound teaching portfolio. He also holds the medical lead position for ACT Health Tracheostomy committee. Outside medicine, Ruwan dedicates most of his time to his family. In addition he has an interest in travelling and good food.
