Sumeet Rai MBBS, DA, DNB, FCPS, FCICM, EDIC, PGCCU Sumeet graduated from University of Mumbai in 1996. With 20 years’ experience in critical care, Sumeet initially completed his Anaesthesia specialist training in 2003 before seeing the light and moving to intensive care. Whilst working as an Intensivist in large tertiary teaching hospitals in India, he organised and set up a new 22-bed intensive care unit. Sumeet moved to Australia in 2005 and has been a specialist in Canberra ICU since 2010. He was the clinical lead on the implementation of the ICU Outreach Service and held responsibility for the ICU Education program from 2011-2016. Sumeet has an interest in critical care nephrology and research, with a keen interest in teaching. He is an accredited ALS, NHET-Sim, BASIC and Beyond BASIC instructor and is currently Supervisor of Training for the College of Intensive Care Medicine. All while also trying (barely) to complete a PhD on long-term outcomes of ICU patients. Sumeet is currently the Chair of the ICU Research Executive Committee. When not at work, or hiding behind a computer with PhD stuff, you will often find Sumeet in the kitchen doing non-blinded, non-randomised trials, researching various approaches to make food palatable for his family and friends.
