On Wednesday 12th February 2019 one of our Clinical Care Coordinators, Lola Nadruku Kurimalawai, was invited as a guest of the Fiji High Commissioner to Australia, His Excellency Mr Luke Daunivalu to attend a reception at Parliament House.
The reception was held as part of an Australian Government initiative, the "Pacific Step Up Program" and was hosted by the Honourable Senator Mrs Ann Ruston, Assistant Minister for International Development and the Pacific.
Lola was recognised for her contribution to Fiji, especially to Health through her participation in the recent Fiji Nurses Project, hosted by Canberra Hospital and University of Canberra.
Lola says "I am very grateful and privileged to be able to give back to my Country, Fiji, in Healthcare Development, especially through the Fiji Nurses Project and other proposed future projects. I would like to thank former ACT Chief Nurse Ronnie Croome, current ACT Chief Nurse Dr Margaret McLeod, and the staff of the Chief Nurse's office for giving me this amazing opportunity to serve my country."
The Canberra ICU team would like to congratulate Lola on her hard work and this incredible honour.
